The Palestine Liberation Organization's ambassador to the United States said Tuesday that any future Palestinian state it seeks with help from the United Nations and the United States should be free of Jews.

"After the experience of the last 44 years of military occupation and all the conflict and friction, I think it would be in the best interest of the two people to be separated," Maen Areikat, the PLO ambassador, said...

I'm sorry, I don't see the controversy. Not only is that almost exactly what the Israeli FM Avigdor Lieberman has said on numerous previous occasions, it's seems self-evidently true.

And I'm not sure why anyone of Israeli, Jewish or Zionist persuasion would want it any other way. Is a person who is now a Jew and an Israeli citizen living in a location that ends up within the Palestinian state going to surrender their Israeli citizenship in favor of Palestinian citizenship?

To me, the main point is that Palestinians and their supporters have been calling Israel an "apartheid state," when it is nothing of the sort. 20+% of the Israeli population are citizens with voting rights.

Those who truly want an "apartheid state" are the hypocritical Palestinians and their supporters. This also contradicts the notion of a "one-state" solution that hypocritical Palestinians and their supporters have promoted.

thedoc, I'd like to see the entire region free of Arabs. They don't know how to treat anyone who is "different."

I was surprised that all the sheep running around screaming "Israeli apartheid" haven't jumped on this one -- until I realized that this contradicts their whole argument (it is a lie). We know now "officially" that most of the ugly hatred, and a true desire for apartheid, comes from the hypocritical Palestinians and equally hypocritical supporters. Go talk to the "Palestinian Authority." They want a judenrein country.

I think that's the main point here. I doubt if many jews would want to live in a palestinian state anyway. But the significant thing about this is it illustrate the Palestinians hypocricy when they accus Israel of Apartheid and racism...
